About the club

Brecon is a flat nine-hole parkland course just west of Brecon town centre, with views of the Brecon Beacons and mature trees and hedgerows shaping many holes. The club was founded in 1902 and was originally designed by James Braid. It was the tenth club to join the Welsh Golfing Union. Played as 18 holes (the nine twice), it measures 6,068 yards from the white tees with a par and standard scratch of 70. Other sources give slightly different 18-hole lengths of 6,122 and 6,134 yards.
