About the club
Pontnewydd is a meadowland course on the hillside above Cwmbran, with views over the valley towards Newport and the Bristol Channel. The club was established in 1875 and is thought to be the oldest golf club in Wales. It is officially a nine-hole course with eleven different greens, and seven of those are played twice from different tees to make a full 18-hole round.
