About the club
Bala is a 10-hole heathland course (played as 18 holes, par 66) on a plateau almost 1,000 feet above sea level, with views over Llyn Tegid and the surrounding mountains. The club moved to its present Penlan site in 1928 from the banks of the River Dee, where winter flooding made play almost impossible. The course was designed by Syd Collins, the Llandudno professional, and the present clubhouse was built in 1973. The original founding year was not found.
