About the club

Glamorganshire is an 18-hole parkland course, not a links, on gently undulating ground at the eastern edge of Cosmeston Lakes Country Park in Lower Penarth. The Earl of Plymouth gave the land in 1890, when the club was founded as a nine-hole course, and it was extended to 18 holes in the late 1890s. Dr Frank Stableford first tried his Stableford scoring system on fellow members here on 30 September 1898, and the club twice hosted the Welsh Amateur Championship in its early years.
